Dear Enrolled Families & Students,
As you are likely aware, if you have been with us last year or this past fall, Pakachoag is undergoing a time of transition following the retirement of our long-term, 30-year Executive Director in June 2023.
Last week, the School’s Board of Directors made the difficult decision to release the newly appointed ED, Jeff Levenson, from employment with Pakachoag. This decision was not taken lightly and follows a 90-day review period and evaluation.
We are happy to report that Kristjon Imperio, Program Director, has agreed to serve as Interim Executive Director effective at this time, through 2024. The board will begin planning for a fresh ED search during this period.
We express appreciation to Kristjon for his hard work on behalf of the School. Sarah Smongeski, our long-term retired Executive Director, remains a close friend of the School and faculty member, and will be available to support Kristjon as he makes this transition in his responsibilities. Kristjon is highly respected by the board and our faculty.
We similarly express appreciation to all of our faculty whose dedication to our students and the art of teaching continues without interruption; and to Cherie Plante, Registrar/Office Manager. Cherie continues to be available in office during afternoon/ evening lesson hours.
Pakachoag is a special place and we, the School’s board, remain committed to continuing the School’s track record for excellence in music education, for you and the larger community.
