Silicon Valley East and Leadership Delaware Inc. Fellows
|
Silicon Valley East is the 2016 effort in the "Reinventing Delaware" program which is sponsored by the Pete du Pont Individual Freedom Award.
The goal of "Reinventing Delaware" is to identify ideas which will make Delaware a better place to live, work, and play and then to support their leaders in implementing those ideas. Leaders from the business and financial sector, along with heads of charitable organizations, academia and the entrepreneurial community are invited to participate.
In 2015, the leading concept, Zip Code Wilmington, was successfully established and emerged as Delaware's first coding school, and one of the first nonprofit coding schools in the country.
This year, a new initiative and the winning idea for
"Reinventing Delaware"
2016 is Silicon Valley East
, an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Funding Initiative which includes a comprehensive strategy to make Delaware "a hub of innovation" on the east coast. Notably, it is supporting a coding competition to be held in the Fall of 2016 and the launch of an entrepreneurial accelerator
for Delaware.
