The National Recreation and Park Association has announced that Alton Parks and Recreation will receive a $250,000 grant for “water play experience” in the city. According to an NRPA release, Alton plans to create a “recirculation” splash pad overlooking the Mississippi River that will allow residents to enjoy water in a natural setting.
