Criminal Record Check Update

The process to conduct a staff's criminal record check has changed. Moving forward, all Microboards and Individualized Funding Agents must have a registered employer account with the Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP). Criminal Record Checks can no longer be done at your local police detachment.

All Microboards and Individualized Funding Agents MUST have an account with the CRRP by Thursday, March 31, 2022.

Emergency Solutions for Housing Support
Feedback Sessions

Community Living BC (CLBC) has started a project to implement emergency home support/respite solution(s) across the province.

The project has several phases with a timeline completing in 2023.

CLBC is currently in the first phase - research and design – gathering information about what is and isn't working and designing initial solutions.

To be part of the decision making process, CLBC is holding the following feedback sessions:

  • People supported by CLBC: Wednesday, February 2; 3:30pm-5pm (PST)

  • Service Providers: Thursday, February 3; 1pm- 2:30pm (PST)

  • Families: Monday, February 7; 4pm-5:30pm (PST)

To register, please contact Brianne.Samson@gov.bc.ca.
Are You Looking to Hire Staff?
If you have a Microboard or use Individualized Funding and hire your own staff, then we invite you to try Support Worker Central (SWC). SWC is an employment website connecting people with disabilities with potential support staff.

How does it work?

  1. Create a profile
  2. Post a job
  3. Explore available support staff in your area
  4. Contact support staff who are looking for work

Once you make a connection with potential support staff, it's up to you to move forward with the interviewing and hiring process.
