City of Yorba Linda Seeks Applications to Fill Vacancy on Parks and Recreation Commission

The City of Yorba Linda is seeking applications from Yorba Linda residents to fill one vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Commission, appointed by the City Council, is comprised of five members who serve alternating four-year terms. The term of this appointment will terminate on December 31, 2024. The Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Yorba Linda residents interested in applying for the appointment must file a brief application form with the City Clerk's Office before 5:30p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Fore more information, please call 714-961-7150.

This free workshop will feature a presentation as well as mock interviews to help teens prepare and feel comfortable about joining the work force. Expressions; An Afternoon of Art and Music

In partnership with the Yorba Linda Arts Alliance Foundation, the Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center's Expressions concert series is back! Now on Sunday afternoons, bring the whole family for an afternoon enjoying the arts. Enjoy live music on the events lawn, tasty eats from food trucks, and an art walk along the paseo featuring local artists! Kicking off the new series will be Funkvision, an R&B/ Jazz/Rock group. Food will be available for purchase from Taco Miendo and Cali Delights food trucks. This event is free to attend and no registration is necessary. Teen Game Night

Teens join us at the Travis Ranch Activity Center and test your gaming skills. Recreation staff will supervise the event which will include console gaming on the Nintendo Switch, board games and team games such as dodgeball. 27th Annual Flashlight Egg Hunt

Friday March 29, 2024 | 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Don't miss out on the Flashlight Egg Hunt in Hurless Barton Park. There will be two hunt zones, music, photo ops, and activities. Don't forget to bring a flashlight, running shoes, and a basket. 40th Annual Egg-Citement Hunt

Saturday, March 30, 2024 | 10:00 a.m.

Join us at Hurless Barton Park for our annual Egg Hunt, where you can enjoy crafts, games, face painting, a petting zoo, age-specific hunt zones, and a special visit from the bunny! There will be plenty of plastic eggs stuffed with candy and prizes to be found, so bring a basket to collect some goodies. This is a free event so no pre-registration is necessary, but please arrive early as the Egg Hunt will begin at 10:00 a.m. sharp. In case of rain, the Egg Hunt will be cancelled. Visit the Gallery at the Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center

The first ever photography exhibit, Through the Camera Lens, is now on display at the Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center from March 4 to April 19. The community is invited to attend a reception on March 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to enjoy live music, interact with the artists and of course enjoy artwork from local artists.

Military Banner Program Accepting Applications

The Military Banner Program is designed to honor and recognize Yorba Linda Gold Star and active duty military personnel. Military banners are displayed on light poles along sections of Yorba Linda Boulevard, beginning at Valley View Avenue and continuing east. Each banner will list the honoree's name and the military branch in which the honoree serves. For more information please visit the City's website.
