One of Yorba Linda's Favorite Traditions is back and this year's line up has something for everyone! Come on down to Hurless Barton Park for an evening of music with family and friends. Pack a picnic dinner, or grab some tasty eats at one of the food trucks. Seating will be on the grass, so don't forget those chairs and blankets. Please note, dogs are not recommended and alcohol is not allowed at the park. Use of bikes, e-bikes, scooters, and skateboards is not allowed during the concert. Food trucks will be subject to availability. Don't forget your dancing shoes!

The Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center are currently welcoming art proposals for our upcoming exhibit, "By the Light of the Moon" showcasing spooky art. If you are an artist looking to share your spooky artwork, we invite you to submit your work by September 6. The selected pieces will be featured in our exhibit from September 30 to November 7, featuring a gallery reception on Thursday, October 17.

Bump, Set, SPIKE TIME! Come join the City Recreation Staff in our fun-filled beginners' volleyball programs! These newly formatted programs will focus on the fundamentals of passing, setting and serving while emphasizing the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Spike timers will meet for instructional sessions twice a week during this eight-week program. The Junior Clinic (ages 8-10) will have Saturday clinics to focus on skill development and the Youth League (ages 11-13) will host Saturday games. Yorba Linda Parks & Recreation is excited to offer a more streamlined registration process for select multi-day activities, including Parent Toddler Art Time, Family Art Experience and some summer programs. To use the system:
- Sign in to your ActiveNet account at YLRecOnline.com and select "Activities."
- Search for the activity by course # or title. Select "Enroll Now."
- Select the participant you are enrolling.
- Use the drop-down menu to select the session time for the session you are enrolling.
- Select each date you would like to register for, using the calendar. Scroll between months using the arrows.
- After selecting all dates, select "Add to Cart" and complete check-out.

The City of Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department is currently looking for enthusiastic and responsible 7th and 8th grade middle school students to form the Teen Action Committee (T.A.C.) for the 2024-2025 school year. Duties may include, but are not limited to, meet to address a variety of current key issues facing Yorba Linda youth, serve as a resource, advocate, and voice to the City regarding the teen community, plan and assist with the planning of teen events and excursions, participate in a community service project, and volunteer for City programs and special events. Sign Up for Community Emergency Response Team Training | Mark your calendars for the next CERT Training! The Yorba Linda Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills. The goal of Yorba Linda CERT is to provide citizens with the basic skills to protect themselves, their families, and their neighbors in the aftermath of a disaster. As a CERT volunteer, you can help by responding to the immediate needs of your neighborhood following an event when professional emergency responders are not immediately available to help. The City's next CERT Training opportunity starts in October 2024. Alchemy Theatre Company and the Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center have partnered up to bring you, Puffs or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. Puffs is a Potter inspired comedy for anyone who has ever felt like a secondary character in someone else's story.

All Shook Up - Tickets on Sale August 11

It's 1955, and into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets. Loosely based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, this hip-swiveling, lip curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin' out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as "Heartbreak Hotel", "Hound Dog", "Jailhouse Rock", and "Don't Be Cruel." This is the inaugural production from the Yorba Linda Spotlight Players, a community theater group that is a partnership between the Yorba Linda Spotlight Theater Company and the Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department.
Shows will be held Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting October 11 to October 20. Ticket sales will open August 11 at PurplePass.com/YLAllShookUp.

Part-Time Senior Recreation Leader
This is a part-time position under the general supervision of the Recreation Specialist, Recreation Coordinator and/or Recreation Supervisor. Responsibilities include assisting in the daily operations of parks and recreation facilities including preparing facility and room setup, monitoring facility rentals, and assisting in the planning, organizing, implementing, and leading a variety of recreation activities, and special events for youth, teen, adult, and the older adult population.
