The allocation for Period A-186 (November 19 to January 13, 2024) was set by the Chicken Farmers of Canada Board of Directors on August 15, 2023 at 2.0 % above base as follows (in KG LIVE weight.)

2.0% over base nationally yields +1.3% to BC under the current CFC allocation agreement, the Atlantic Canada Safeguard agreement and eastern Canada recovery agreement.
The mainstream utilization for BC growers has been set at 98.7%

Provincial Agriculture Updates

The CleanBC Single-Use and Plastic Waste Prevention Regulation has been released and will begin to come into force on December 20, 2023 . The ban on polystyrene foam meat trays will come into effect on July 1, 2030. Read more here.
