May Flowers....

The Congaree Land Trust team continues to bask in the showering of love and support we received from the "sold out" crowd at our Game & Garden Soiree in April. Funds raised from the get-together and auction support our ongoing efforts to conserve the natural and scenic lands of central South Carolina.

Our next Escape is only days away! Join us this Saturday for a delicious Wild Edibles Walk with permaculturalist, Matt Kipp. We have more information about the Walk below in our newsletter. Check out our future ESCAPES by clicking here.

It's been an exciting 30th anniversary celebration so far! As you know, your support is about more than acres, it's about maintaining our way of life!

Sincerely,

Stuart

Wild Edibles Walk with Matt Kipp

Our Wild Edibles Walk with Matt Kipp is only days away!

Matt Kipp has been foraging local wild foods for nearly 30 years, and has offered wild plant walks and classes in South Carolina for half of that time. Matt's passion for taking a walk on the wild side was fed by years of research and learning from elder regional foragers as a teenager. Join us Saturday, May 21st from 10am - 12pm and explore the banks of the Broad River at River Creek Farms!

Registration is free so secure your spot today by signing up here.

For more details, contact Elizabeth Burt at elizabeth@congareelt.org.

Outlook | Looking Back at Congaree Land Trust

In celebrating our 30th anniversary this year, we are taking some time to look at the history, outlook, and growth of the Congaree Land Trust.

Did you know the Congaree Land Trust was first incorporated in late 1991 as an outgrowth of the Columbia Environmental Committee? The committee focused on environmental issues and opportunities to improve the quality of life in the Midlands.

Since then we have continued to build on the original Board of Directors goals to:

  • Build a membership base
  • Show the community what we could accomplish
  • Develop a conservation vision for the region.

30th Anniversary | Share Your CLT Memories

We want to hear from you! Please share some of your favorite Congaree Land Trust Moments on our social media pages, or email with your favorite, pictures, videos, or stories to elizabeth@congareelt.org so we can share them throughout the year.
