Enid Day at the Capitol 2024

Enid Day at the Capitol was held on March 5th at the John D. Groendyke Wildlife Building in Oklahoma City. About 50 Enid attendees met with Rep. Chad Caldwell, Rep. Carl Newton and Senator Roland Pederson. Discussion topics included tax cuts, higher education consolidation concerns and reducing the incarceration rate through increased mental health and substance abuse services.

Lt. Governor Matt Pinell spoke to the group regarding the increased number of Texas citizens moving to Oklahoma citing our state's economic climate and quality of life as key factors. "We always appreciation Lt. Governor Pinnell and our local legislators attending and speaking to our group," said Enid Chamber President Jon Blankenship.

Leadership Greater Enid Class XXXIII attended as well. The Enid group also heard updates from ODOT Chief Engineer Brian Taylor, Oklahoma Historical Society Director Trait Thompson and Amber Sharp from the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Please Support Enlisted Appreciation Night

Vance Air Force Base (VAFB) has a tremendous impact on Enid’s economy. A large part of the base’s population consists of enlisted personnel. On Saturday, April 27, 2024 the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee will host this group for Enlisted Appreciation Night. Recognized by the Air Force as one of the finest displays of appreciation for enlisted personnel, the event demonstrates commitment and support for VAFB and helps acquaint military personnel with the Enid business community.

If you would like to contribute or have any questions, please contact Lori at 580.237.2494 or lori@enidchamber.com. Businesses contributing cash or prizes will be recognized in our newsletter and throughout the event.
