Enlisted Appreciation Night 2023

The Greater Enid Chamber Military Affairs Committee hosted the 54th Enlisted Appreciation Night for enlisted men and women of Vance Air Force Base (VAFB) April 22, 2023. Those in attendance were treated to an evening of food, drinks and fun. First, second and third place trophies were awarded to top players in the blackjack tournament. Committee co-chairs, George Pankonin and Jamie Hendricks served as emcees for the event and the grand finale prize drawings. Names of those on duty and deployed were included in the drawing alongside those in attendance. The committee would like to thank the generous businesses, organizations and individuals that made the evening possible through monetary, prize and food donations. Thank you to the committee members, Chamber Ambassadors and volunteers that added to the success of the event by ensuring things ran smoothly from start to finish.

Enid Legislative Trip to Washington, D.C.

Enid business and city leaders had meetings with Congressman Frank Lucas, Congressman Kevin Hern, Senator James Lankford and Senator Markwayne Mullin on Enid's legislative trip to Washington, D.C. The group also met with military officials at the Pentagon and hosted a legislative reception. Meeting topics included Vance AFB priorities, community support for Vance, and Enid economic development successes and opportunities. Thank you to all those who participated on the federal legislative trip!
