SUMMER PRINTMAKING CLASSES

Well, most of summer courses are underway, filled with happy inkslingers learning how to grain stones, expose screens, sew books and carve blocks, but we have a few spots left in our Etching Bootcamp, coming up in July.
This is a great excuse for all of you out-of-towners to hang out for a whole week in Chicago while making prints.

SUMMER Etching Bootcamp - a week long INTENSIVEwith Duffy O'ConnorMonday - Friday, July 8 - 12, 20139:30am - 3:30pm daily (price includes additional work time available Saturday, July 13) $550 ($100 deposit required) Description:This hugely popular week-long course in traditional intaglio printmaking is back! Etching techniques of line, aquatint and softground using zinc or copper plates will be covered. Direct intaglio techniques such as drypoint and engraving will also be addressed. The instruction will be flexible to accommodate beginners as well as experienced printmakers who would like to refresh their etching and printing
skills. Students will explore black and white as well as color imagery. Folks
travel here from all over to participate in this class, taking advantage of the
fun-filled Chicago summers!  ___________________________________________________
