Davis Art Center is calling Yolo County artists and mental health providers. Please share your perspective and experience on incorporating the arts into mental health services. The survey takes about 10 minutes. Davis Art Center will randomly select two survey respondents for a $100 gift card from Target as a thank you fo your time.

The Youth Arts Studio Program


The 2024 Youth Arts Studio (YAS) Program offers after school arts workshops for Yolo County high school students. All sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday at the new Gibson House and Property studio space.

Poetry & Creative Writing

Poetry Out Loud


Poetry Out Loud is a statewide poet project that culminates in a national recitation contest for high school students. Student participants interpret, memorize, and recite three poems within a competition framework that starts in the classroom. Activities in Yolo County are administered by YoloArts. Each year students compete to represent their county at the state competition in Sacramento.

At the Gibson House

K-12 Field Trips


Field trips to the Gibson House and The Barn Gallery welcome K-12 students to explore art and Yolo County history. Offered each Fall and Spring, students are guided through current exhibitions.


Learning can be extended by adding a hands-on art making workshop with a professional teaching artist. Guided tours and workshops are developed and adapted to the skill level of each unique group of students.
