Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
It wasn’t that long ago when our graduates were presented for Holy Baptism. Together, the body of Christ promised to shape their faith in meaningful ways. Now they stand before us as adults ready to take what they have learned in faith and in life out into the world! At this important milestone, we give thanks for each of them and for the many ways in which they have blessed Sheridan Lutheran Church. Through their participation in worship, Children's Faith Formation, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation, and Youth group, as well as our music, drama and outreach ministries, they shared their gifts with their peers, made a difference in our community, and enriched our worship! Their leadership and participation on church council, praise team, youth mission trips, and so many more, shaped Sheridan into a more welcoming and vibrant faith community, and helped carry out our mission in amazing ways.
We rejoice with our graduates as they complete their high school education. We, your church family, share pride in your accomplishment and are excited to continue walking with you as you continue your journey in faith and life.
A Prayer for Graduates
Gracious God, you bless each of us abundantly. We give you thanks especially for the completion of another academic year and for the milestones that these graduates have reached. With joy, we have watched them grow into the individuals that God has prepared them to be and we are grateful for the many ways they have blessed our faith community and for the opportunities for us to be a blessing to them. As they begin new phases of their lives, please continue to bless and guide these graduates. May they know your love and feel a sense of your peace in all they have experienced and the many moments yet to come. Strengthen them with the Holy Spirit, and daily increase in them your gifts of grace: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord, the spirit of joy in your presence. Bless also the parents, families, and friends of these students who have raised these children and nourished them in the Christian faith; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
