Just a friendly reminder to get your rose bushes ready for winter with collars and topsoil.
Collars are easy to install. First, place around the base of your rose bush.
Once in place fill the collar to the top with topsoil.
This will protect the graft/knuckle from freezing.
Come March, when the temperatures begin to steadily warm, we will let you know that it is time to remove the collar and brush away the topsoil.
DO NOT cut your rose bushes back now. That would encourage new growth and that is not what you want going into winter.
Wait until March, when you remove your collar you will easily be able to see where to cut them back.
