This is like going back in time to 2008 and buying Cult white Burgundy names like PYCM, Roulot, Coche-Dury, Dauvissat, and Raveneau for what is now pennies on the dollar. This is fact and not hyperbole.
All the names dropped above have become once-a-year treats that don't make it to the shelf for long, if at all. Even the producers we used to call “overlooked” are becoming allocated, which is the case with Jean-Philippe Fichet's wines. We just received our allocation of three of his stunning 2022s, but only a paltry few bottles of each.
Jean-Philippe is the rare grower to bootstrap a new domaine in Burgundy’s modern era, assembling his holdings parcel by parcel over a nearly 40-year career.
Fichet’s style resembles Roulot’s the most, with riveting focus, purity, delineation, and incredible transparency. Today's lineup offers textured, racy, and cult-caliber wines without artifice. So, without further ado, let's get into it because these bottles will be gone before dinnertime:
