Competition improves each year at LV Golf Classic

Kansas State has been a fixture at the Las Vegas Golf Classic as the Wildcats are at the top of the leaderboard when it comes to fundraising for the event. But they also find themselves on the golf leaderboard quite often - including this year.

John Chandler’s KSU team (Shon Hansen, Tracer Paul and former PGA golfer Craig Barlow) took home first place gross at Shadow Creek while the MGM team of Andrew Martin, Brandon Wendelschafer, Tony Enard and Anthony Brandonisio won first net (a year after a first-place gross finish at TPC Summerlin).

At Cascata, a familiar team captured another gross championship - the Sooner Stickmen (Danny Heatly, Ron Clark, Tyler Woodward and Bo Overton). UNLV head coach Kevin Kruger - with teammates Mark Starsiak, Jay Ship and former LPGA golfer Kendall Dye - won net.

At TPC Summerlin, Atomic Golf featuring Naismith HOFer Spencer Haywood (pictured), coach Jud Kinne, Don Woeckener and Mike Neal captured first gross while Xs & Os of Success (Mike Turner, Dan Lai, Daniel Allen and Dale Eeles - pictured) won the net title.

Additional teams placing:

Cascata

2nd Gross: Top of the World - Cade Wilson, Benson Diehm, Will Hyde, Keegan Hagar (note: the youngest team in LV Classic history)

2nd Net: A Bad Collective - ESPN’s Sean Farnham, Ian Morgan, Josh Oder, Dave Gorman

3rd Net: Rox Covert - David Gorman, Alex Soliman, Tom Blanda, Jack Larsen

Shadow Creek

2nd Gross: NextGen Cattle Co. - Shannon Kruger, Ronnie McHenry, Mike Dickerson, Ron McHenry (Washburn - retired)

2nd Net: Oregon’s Mark Byrum, Rob Gloeckner, Eric Weckert, Justin Fisher

3rd Net: Wald Family Foods - Tommy Wald, Bob Wald, Brayden Wald, Chris Rosacker

TPC Summerlin

2nd Gross: The UPS Store (pictured) - Tom Englund, Samuel Ireland, Carl DiGennaro, Greg Sak

2nd Net: MGM 7 - Juan Carter, Mark Trevino, William Gilbert, Jordan McCormick

3rd Net: Golf Digest 1 - Terry Katz, Tom Stiles, Sam Stein, Chris Tarr

And congrats to our closest-to-the-pin contest winners, Jeff Steinberg (Shadow Creek) and JT The Brick (Cascata).
