Good morning,

You may have heard us mention it before, but we think our employees are the best and they are what makes Landform a great place to work. Our employees come from a variety of professional backgrounds and each carry with them their own strengths that help make us a successful team.

In September, we took our employees and their families to a St. Paul Saints game as an appreciation of their hard work and dedication. The Saints know how to put on a good game and we had a great time visiting in an environment outside of the office and meeting families we have heard so much about.

Chisago Housing Project

Landform’s Planning & Urban Design Studio just wrapped up an effort for Chisago County to help prepare Cities in the county for future housing development. This effort resulted in the creation of the Chisago County Housing Toolkit.

As a part of this process, two separate workshops were held to get city leaders in the same room to discuss and think about the future of housing in their respective communities. In the first workshop, each city leader was given the opportunity to conduct an analysis that identified housing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in their community. In the second workshop, city leaders were asked to create objectives, goals and strategies around housing for their city. While each city has their own unique circumstances, a common theme emerged from the workshops: cities in Chisago County want to establish conditions for more diverse housing that allows for residents with diverse incomes to call cities in Chisago County home.

With that theme in mind, the Chisago County Housing Toolkit took the ideas generated from the workshop and crafted goals and recommendations that are intended to help these communities create the conditions that will allow a broader range of incomes to reside in Chisago County. The goals and recommendations span four themes that, when combined, tackle the complicated issue of housing. The four themes are planning, education and awareness, communication, and facilitation and economic development. In addition to those recommendations, the tool kit also contains valuable information on housing in the county for developers. Landform analyzed the developable land available for housing in the county and determined what the suitable density of housing would be for that land. Developers will be able to use this information to help determine possible sites for housing.

Through this toolkit and outreach with city leaders, Landform is making the connection between the private and public sectors to establish the conditions for a more diverse mix of housing in Chisago County.

Township Engineering

Townships are looking to save money and provide efficient results for their land development projects. We have extensive experience providing innovative and cost-effective solutions for several Minnesota Townships. We provide strategic planning for road preservation, maintenance and upgrade programs, all while working within the Township’s budget.

A Township contracts with a consulting engineering firm for engineering s ervices such as street projects as well as performs plan review and construction monitoring for developer installed public improvements. The Township Engineer performs duties as the Township Board directs for the construction, reconstruction, maintenance and repair of streets, roads, pavements, storm sewers, culverts, and other engineering work.

Township Park Development

Luther Mazda Mistubshi

Construction started on a new Luther Mazda Mitsubishi dealership located west of the existing Chevy dealership at the corner of 68 ^th Ave. N. and Brooklyn Blvd. in the City of Brooklyn Center. Landform provided civil engineering, surveying and landscape architecture services for the site. The new Mazda Mitsubishi development will consist of the dealership, parking and add additional parking to the adjacent dealerships.

Woods at Quail Creek

Landform provided civil engineering, surveying and landscape architectural services for the Woods at Quail Creek development in Blaine, Minnesota. This multi-phased development includes four completed phases with the fifth and final phase set for construction in 2019.

Developed for Lennar Corporation and Newmark Homes, this 80-plus acre development is nestled in the woods and wetlands in a growing popular area of Blaine. When completed, all phases of the development will include roughly 150-single family lots.

JP Mansolf joined the Planning & Urban Design Studio as a Planner. JP recently moved to the Metro area from Michigan with a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan. We are thrilled to have a new "outsiders" perspective for all your planning needs.

Bryan Cliche joined the Retail & Commercial Design Studio as Designer. With more than 15 years experience, Bryan has an extensive background in surveying and civil design work.

Kevin Walgren joined the Administration Department as our new Technology Lead. Kevin has worked in the IT and engineering industry for more than 20 years and we're happy to have him join our team.
