Festival of The Arts
The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts showcases more than 150 juried artists featuring paintings, sculpture, photography, furniture, jewelry and more. These original pieces are for sale in a wide range of price ranges. In addition to the art, the Festival has become a center of activity for the weekend with live demonstrations, entertainment stages, family activities and a garden oasis.

For more than 16 years, the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce has presented one of the most unique and popular art festivals in Chicagoland. Every aspect, from artists to musicians to vendors and everything in between, is specifically selected by the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce in order to bring the best to the heart of Lakeview.

Fulfilling a childhood fantasy just steps from Wrigley Field, Bill Rush is beyond excited to call Wrigleyville home and introduce our community to Bill Rush Photography and Design. After a decade on staff with The Weather Channel, Bill decided to branch out and start his own independent content creation studio, Bill Rush Photography and Design, in 2015. 
 
Since BRPD’s inception, Bill’s artwork has been seen in galleries nationwide and internationally, he’s photographed clients ranging from Nick Offerman to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and he’s captured corporate and event photography for businesses such as The Arthritis Foundation, Mercedes Benz, and Coca-Cola. Bill is an APA National Award Winning Photographer and you may have seen his work in popups and artist markets throughout the city. The Moustache Crawl Returned Last Weekend
This past weekend The Mustache Crawl returned to Wrigleyville. This once a year pub crawl is a hallmark of Chicago Summer. With the help of many crawlers over several years, The Mustache Crawl has raised almost $150,000 for local charities.

With their help this year, they supported the Lakeview East Community Partnership which supports community development projects as well as arts and neighborhood beautification.

Chicago Cubs Make Massive Changes to Roster
In the last month, The Cubs have traded Bryant, Baez, Rizzo, Joc Pederson, Andrew Chafin, Ryan Tepera, Jake Marisnick, Craig Kimbrel and Trevor Williams. These trades signal some big changes happening within the organization.

Vautravers Building Moved 40 Feet to Make Room for CTA Expansion
127-year-old Lake View structure, the Vautravers building, has been moved this past Monday and Tuesday. It started it's very short trip to get out of the way of a Chicago Transit Authority track rebuilding project.
The move 30 feet west and four feet south — as part of the CTA’s Red and Purple modernization — should wrap up by Tuesday night.

The legendary Old Town School of Folk Music will host 45-minute morning music programs each Tuesday from July 6 through September 28 at 10 a.m. Following the music program, guests can enjoy a variety of family-friendly movies on the video board, starting at 11 a.m. each Tuesday.​​
French Market at Gallagher Way
Gallagher Way will host the French Market on select Thursday evenings from July 15 through September 30, starting at 4 p.m. The European-inspired market features 20 vendors, including a mixture of specialty foods, crafts and artisanal goods, along with live music and a new kid-friendly craft booth. 
Fitness Series Presented by Advocate Health Care at Gallagher Way
Presented by Advocate Health Care, the Fitness Series at Gallagher Way kicks off July 5 and runs through September 29, with free weekly outdoor fitness classes for the community, including HIIT and Social Run Club with CrossTown Fitness, and Yoga with Five Keys Yoga.
Movies at Gallagher Way
Lakeview’s historic Music Box Theatre will host seven free movies at Gallagher Way, beginning at 7:30 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at each showing from surrounding restaurants and on-site concessions stands. Adopt a Landmark Fund
The Department of Planning and Development (DPD) is opening the Citywide Adopt-a-Landmark Fund for applications. Owners of designated Chicago Landmarks throughout the City are eligible to apply for grant assistance to rehabilitate their building. More than $6 million in grant funding is available. 
Additional information, including restrictions and the application itself, is available at chicago.gov/aal. Questions can be directed to staff at DPD’s Historic Preservation Division at landmarks@cityofchicago.org 

  • The Adopt-a-Landmark Fund from @ChicagoDPD is now open for grant applications. Hundreds of designated Chicago Landmark buildings are eligible to apply. Learn more at chicago.gov/aal.

Have your voice heard about Chicago's 2022 budget. The Office of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot and the Office of Budget and Management are organizing a series of Budget Engagement Forums for senior leaders across the City to listen to residents about their priorities and ideas for Chicago's next budget. Participants can visit a City resource fair, listen to a budget presentation, and participate in small group discussions as well as public comment. Registration and masks are required.

Starting this Saturday, we will be kicking off a series of three 2022 Budget Engagement Forums. These events provide opportunities for residents to speak directly to senior leaders across the Mayor's Office and every City department about values and priorities as we enter into a very important budget season.
