2023 Lakeview East Annual Meeting |
Join us for the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting! This is your opportunity to come together with other business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to celebrate the successes of the past year and discuss our plans for the future, featuring our guest of honor, Alderman Tom Tunney, and welcoming the neighborhood's Alderman Elect, Bennett Lawson! We'll kick off the evening with a networking cocktail reception, featuring delicious hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. This will be followed by a quick engaging and informative program, where you'll hear from our guest speakers and gain insights into the latest developments in our community.
This year's meeting is on March 28th at 6 pm, at Sluggers!

Welcome to the Neighborhood, Wicked Plants!
A new plant shop just opened on Clark Street that will knock your stalks off. Wicked Plants is not your average plant shop - they offer a build-your-own succulent station where you can pick out and accessorize any succulent of your choosing! They also offer a wide selection of plant pots that come in a variety of sizes and funky shapes like crocodiles and skulls. They'll be hosting workshops, so be sure to follow their Instagram so you don't miss out. If it's been a long thyme since you've updated your at home garden, come spruce things up at Wicked Plants!

What to do on Saint Patrick's Day
Although Parade Day might be over, Saint Patrick's Day hasn't even happened yet! Falling on Friday, March 17th, here is where you can celebrate locally.
Wilde: The Broadway Irish restaurant is celebrating with traditional Irish food, Irish dancers, and bagpipers! They'll be opening at 11 am.
Rocks Lakeview: Commemorate the day with some corned beef sliders, green beer, and Jello shots! Rocks will be opening at 11 am and is ready to party all day long!
Graystone Tavern: Graystone is offering $5 green beer, $7 Guinness, $7 Proper 12 shots, and $9 Irish car bombs on Saint Paddy's! They'll be opening at 10:30 am.
Kit Kat Lounge: Kit Kat is hosting a drag brunch! Kit Kat Diva Kinley Preston will be performing for two shows, one at 11:30 am and one at 1 pm.
Lark: Lark is hosting drag brunch with Venus O' Shady Carangi, and is offering $6 Guinness Pints, $4 Green Bud Light, $8 Irish Car Bombs, Corned Beef Dinner, and Shepherd's Pie ALL WEEK!
Nola Bar & Kitchen: NOLA is celebrating with $5 green beers, $20 green beer pitchers, and $10 shamrock hurricanes!
Harrigan's Pub: This corner Irish Pub will be open from noon until 2 am, selling $7 Guinness!

In Memoriam, Jojo Baby
It is with a heavy heart to announce that Chicago legend and longtime Smartbar and Metro resident, Jojo Baby, has passed. Jojo is one of the biggest drag inspirations in Chicago and was cherished by so many. Their legacy will live on the dance floor, and in the memory of all those who ever danced, spoke, met, or gained inspiration from them. Jojo Baby has always been, and always will be, an icon.

It's happening... Wrigleyville is soon to be the newest home to Small Cheval!
Sister restaurant to the ever most popular Au Cheval, Small Cheval offers a stripped down menu serving burgers, fries, and shakes. The new Wrigleyville location will be located right at the corner of Clark and Waveland, at 1119 W Waveland. There is no opening date YET, but they are opening sometime this Spring!

Each police district is divided in beats, and each beat has a team of beat officers assigned to it. Police representatives from these teams and local community leaders conduct the CAPS meetings.
