January 2016 Laker E-ffect
So, if the wordsmiths at LSSU get their way, this is the last time a story lead like this will ever make it into print or broadcast. Overused words and phrases are 'problematic' for thousands of Queen's English 'stakeholders.' Once something is banished, there is no 'walking it back;' that's our 'secret sauce' and there's no 'price point' for that.

How Big is Banishment? BIG! According to LSSU Public Relations Director Tom Pink, word banishment is used in nearly every North American daily on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day, and broadcast on thousands of radio and TV stations all over the world. Notable print publications include the New York Times and Washington Post. Television broadcasts include Live! with Kelly and Michael, ABC News, Today Show, Good Morning America, Forbes, CNN, The O'Reilly Report and Fox and Friends on Fox News; online there are articles and blogs from Taiwan, Indonesia, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Italy, among other locations.

We asked - You Told Us - We Listened!
Last summer we sent a survey to all alumni, requesting feedback on a number of projects in which the Alumni Association might get involved. Nearly 500 of you responded - thank you! There wasn't always consensus, and there were a wide variety of comments. We read and studied them all and did our best to summarize them. Read the results, see the next steps!

Do you work for a matching gift company? Double Your Impact!

Many companies will double (maybe triple) the amount of their employees' contribution to a charity or their alma mater.  Matching gifts provide needed funds in support of the educational experience at Lake Superior State University.  Check with your human resources department to find out if you can double the impact of your gift to LSSU.

Visit the alumni home page for information about upcoming alumni events and programs, to update your information with LSSU or to join the Alumni Association.
