117th Annual Lake of Bays Regatta Glenmount Dock Saturday July 31, 1:00-4:00 p.m. Presented by the Lake of Bays Sailing Club, the Lake of Bays Annual Regatta is BACK! There is no entrance fee and all residents of Lake of Bays are encouraged to participate or cheer on the brave in this annual regatta that includes swimming, canoe races and tilting contests. Bring your own canoe, paddles and life jackets. BBQ, BEVERAGES and LBSC merchandise available to purchase. As we are still required to adhere to municipal COVID restrictions and recommendations we would ask that everyone: take note of COVID protocols that will be posted on site, sign the Contact Tracing Form on site, wear a mask on the dock. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE VACCINATED. LEARN MORE: See the schedule of events >

Lake of Bays Sailing Club Annual Club Championships Regatta (Alumni Regatta) Sunday August 1, 2021 Registration starts at 12:00 p.m. at the sailing club.   First race starts at 1:00 p.m. Awards will follow on the dock No BBQ this year so it’s a donation based entry with proceeds going to the club.  For more questions call Lara Lever 647-291-1421 or email at LeverLara@gmail.com.

Share the Lake Last week we let you know that LOBA has introduced a new information piece about Boating on Lake of Bays with a focus on how we can all SHARE THE LAKE in a way that ensures everyone's safety and enjoyment. Lots of members have been in touch to say how much they like it, and some have already included it in their cottage rental binder. Don't forget to submit your August Long Weekend ... and everyday shots to the 2021 LOBA photo contest!   LIFE at the LAKE: people, pets and dwellings NATURE: wild plants and animals LANDSCAPE: land, water and sky   Open to all Lake of Bays Association members and families. Photos must be previously unpublished and taken in the current year--limit of 5 per category. They must be in high-resolution, digital format and sent to executivecoord@loba.ca, subject line Lake of Bays Association photo contest. Fireworks This is a reminder that in the Township of Lake of Bays fireworks ARE permitted on Statutory Holiday weekends from dusk to 11:00 p.m. Other than on July 1, they are NOT permitted at any other times. In the Town of Huntsville, consumer fireworks are prohibited at all times. If you plan to set off fireworks, please inform your neighbours (particularly those with pets), finish up by 11:00 p.m. and follow these Safety Tips.
