Referendum
In December, the Lake Geneva Joint #1 School Board and the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union (Badger) High School Board made the decision to go to referendum on April 6, 2021.

The voters will be asked to approve the exceeding of the revenue limit by $750,000 for each district for the 2021-2022 school year and thereafter, for recurring purposes consisting of ongoing operational expenses to address issues for both the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union (Badger) High School District and the Lake Geneva Joint #1 District. If approved by voters, the solution will provide recurring funds to maintain current district programming and services within each district. Additionally, the Badger School District will ask voters to approve a $6 million renovation to the existing high school for needed facility improvements.

The renovation to the existing high school will include the following facility improvements:
  • Replacement of oldest roofing sections
  • Technology enhancements
  • Upgrade 1958 portions of Badger High School
  • Remodel of cafeteria/union
  • Replace original main gymnasium bleachers and flooring to provide safe, secure and comfortable environments for students, staff and the community
  • Remodel and secure lobby area and restrooms to meet code and foster a safe and secure environment
  • Renovate the Badger kitchen
  • Address code, maintenance, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues throughout 1958 portions of the building
  • Upgrades to the auditorium, LED lighting and athletic facilities

We are pleased to announce that Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union High School District has just retired a considerable amount of debt. This has placed our districts in a favorable position to be able to pass the April 6, 2021 referendum questions for Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union High School District and Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District with NO TAX INCREASE for our residents.

What if high school was more than just four years of preparation for college and career? What if high school and college took place simultaneously? And what if you could leave high school with skills for immediate employment?

INTRODUCING THE ACADEMIES OF BADGER
In alignment with our goal of improved student achievement through enhanced curriculum offerings, we are pleased to introduce The Academies of Badger, dual enrollment programs to prepare students for careers and college.

Each Academy pathway consists of a series of dual enrollment Transcripted Credit, VanGUARD, Start College Now, and Advanced Placement courses that carry high school and college credit which is transferable to pathway specific, Wisconsin 4-year public and private universities.

Through the Academies of Badger, students will be able to complete 6-32 credits toward a post-secondary degree at little to no charge to them while earning their high school diploma.

The Academies of Badger classes are inclusive to all students.
Don't forget about the Daily At-Home Health Check

Please complete the Daily At-Home Health Check prior to sending your student to school. It is vital to ask the questions on the checklist each and every day to prevent the possibility of exposing other students or staff. This checklist is to be filled out at home, daily on the honor system. It is not required to be handed into the school.

If you answer yes to any of the questions on the checklist:
- Keep your student home.
- Let the school office know the questions which were answered yes.
- Follow the appropriate guidelines for when to return to school:

Thank you!

Donate for College Scholarships for the Badger Class of 2021
The Badger Union High School Endowment Fund is making a community-wide appeal for donations to be used for college scholarships for the graduating seniors of the Class of 2021. Scholarships are awarded to well-rounded students who have achieved a high level of academic standing and have participated in extracurricular activities along with community involvement.

Our foundation has several scholarships that are endowed. We are working to build the fund of scholarships made possible through annual fundraising and donations. Help celebrate this proud community accomplishment with a gift of any size. Our well-deserving students have used their scholarships to attend accredited universities and technical colleges. Any gift large or small is appreciated.
The PowerSchool Parent Portal gives parents and students grades 6 - 12 access to real-time information including attendance, grades and detailed assignment descriptions, school bulletins and even personal messages from a teacher. You can also use PowerSchool to register to receive email alerts for grades, attendance, assignments and more. It’s a great way to stay connected to your child’s teachers and our school.
