Straus Named Principal
at Badger High School
“Better never stops,” is the long-term vision Jenny Straus, who has been named Principal of Badger High School by the Lake Geneva-Genoa City UHS Board of Education on Monday, February 10, 2020, beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. Straus is serving as Interim Principal since the resignation of Russ Tronsen last summer.
Online Safety - Social Media, Online Games & More
The National Online Safety organization has put together some good resources for parents and educators about social media apps, online games, mental health, and trending issues with the goal of having informed discussions with children/ students.

Nominate a Teacher & Support Staff of the Year
Please submit your nominations for Teacher of the Year & Support Staff of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year.
Southern Lakes Anthology
Students in grades 3-8 participated in a project sponsored by the Southern Lakes Advanced Learners Network called the Southern Lakes Anthology. Students were asked to produce a written or art piece related to the theme, "Beneath the Surface." The twenty-four pieces were selected to be part of our Lake Geneva District Anthology booklets, and these students will be honored at a ceremony on May 14.

It's Career & Technical Education Month
Career & Technical Education is celebrated every year in February. Badger High School has a comprehensive CTE program including courses in Agriculture Science, Business, Family Consumer Science, Health Science, Marketing and Technology & Engineering. Each of these areas is supported by a Career & Technical Education Service Organization: FFA, DECA, FCCLA, HOSA and SkillsUSA.

LGMS Geography Bee
Congratulations to the winner of the LGMS Geography Bee, Steven Wang and the 2nd place finisher Isaac Solverson!

Becoming A Badger
On January 29, Becoming A Badger students in the Engineering, Manufacturing & Construction class used the CNC Plasma cutter to produce a name plate and used a Haas CNC mill to make a Badger keychain.
Save the Dates for Summer Enrichment 2020!
Lake Geneva Schools Summer Enrichment program offers stimulating, hands-on learning to three-year-olds through eighth graders. The program promotes life-long learning while making friends and having fun. Our dedicated teachers, who are passionate about their subjects, can't wait to share their excitement and ideas with students! Classes are open to all three-year-olds through eighth graders on a first-come, first-served basis. Three-year-olds must have turned three on or before June 1 and must be fully toilet-trained (no pull-ups, please).

Open Enrollment - Join Us!
The 2020-2021 regular Public School Open Enrollment application period is February 3, 2020 - April 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Through the open enrollment process, students outside the district boundaries can come to learn with us.  If you live outside of the Lake Geneva Joint #1 Elementary School District or the Lake Geneva-Genoa City Union (Badger) High School District and are interested in learning more about our fine academic and co-curricular programs plus our premiere facilities,
call 262-348-1000!

Badger High School Announces Semester 1 Honor Roll
Badger High School announces the following students have earned High Honor Roll and Honor Roll for the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. Badger Honor Rolls are based on grade point average (GPA). Students who earn a GPA of 3.8 or higher are listed on High Honor Roll and students who earn at least 3.3 but less than 3.8 GPA earn Honor Roll, based on semester grades.
District Spelling Bee
The following students participated in the District Spelling Bee held on January 14th at Lake Geneva Middle School:

Maple Park Charter School Now Enrolling for 2020-2021

Our Maple Park Charter School offers a blended learning approach (parent teaching resources, hands-on materials, and virtual options) where each student's Individualized Learning Plan is personalized to support the child’s specific academic profile. Our Learning Coaches monitor and meet with families to ensure academic success. In addition, Maple Park students have the opportunity to attend enhanced learning days that include physical education, music, world cultures, art, literacy block, STEM, and more.

Badger Community Education
Badger FFA Strawberry Sale
The Badger FFA strawberry sale for 2020 runs until February 20, 2020. These strawberries are the first picks from Plant City, FL, the strawberry capital of the world! Strawberries are picked and placed on a truck to Wisconsin usually on the same day. The Florida Farm Bureau works with family farms to bring us these great strawberries directly. The strawberries will be delivered the week of March 10th, 2020.
