Star Center and Eastview Schools Receive Accolades While Districts Continue to Focus on Strategic Plan

It is indeed exciting times in the Lake Geneva Schools with two of our excellent elementary schools receiving recognition and plaudits on both the state and national level while the focus of the districts remain centered on our Strategic Plan.

Star Center School has been recognized nationally as a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence! A team of school representatives was sent to Washington, D.C. to receive this prestigious award. There are only eight schools in Wisconsin that received this prestigious award. We are all extremely proud of the excellent work of our students, their parents, staff and administration at Star Center. You make our entire community proud of your accomplishments!

Eastview and Star Center Elementary Schools have also been recognized by the State of Wisconsin as “Five Star Schools” for their excellent academic achievement! This is the state’s highest academic achievement recognition. Once again, we applaud the efforts of students, cooperation and support of parents, staff and administration for achieving this distinction for their school and our district.

The effort and support of an excellent school board also needs to be recognized for the support of the fine programs we are able to offer our students to achieve this remarkable success!

Our Strategic Plan continues to guide us during the 2019-2020 school year to provide the best educational opportunities possible for our students. There is a tremendous focus being placed on helping our students balance their academic growth with their social and emotional needs. As a school district we recognize the pressures that face our students at their particular age and grade level and work not only to provide the finest of academic programs, but the emotional support needed to be happy and healthy young adults. That will remain a goal of our school district as we move forward.

The 2019-2020 school year is off to a fine start. Many students are excelling academically and many more are or have been involved and have had great success in our fine extra-curricular programs. Fall athletic programs have now concluded at the high school as has the fall musical, “The Addams Family”. With that, our winter activities are well underway in all of our schools to provide many more fine opportunities for our students. We will continue to strive to provide the best academic and extracurricular programs possible for our students’ success in and out of the classroom.

Please continue to have the finest of 2019-2020 school years.

Star Center Elementary Students... What is a Veteran?
AG Science Day
N early 300 third graders from Central-Denison, Randall, Star Center, Traver and Woods Schools spent time learning about agriculture science at Badger High School on Friday, October 18th. Lake Geneva Middle School Veterans Day Celebration
Lake Geneva Middle School hosted its annual Veterans Day celebration on Monday, November 11, 2019.

The program featured patriotic music performed by the school’s seventh and eighth grade orchestras, bands and combined choirs, directed by Mrs. Lauren Klement, Mrs. Amanda Krause, and Mrs. Kim May and accompanied by Mrs. Carol Berndt.

Colors were posted by the Color Guard from Post 24 of The American Legion, located in Lake Geneva. Veterans who attended the program “passed the microphone” to introduce themselves and announced when and where they served.

Following the assembly, community members, family members of students who are veterans, spouses of veterans, or widows of veterans attended a luncheon at the middle school. The lunch was prepared and served by eighth graders from Mrs. Tara Borland’s family and consumer science class.
