It was wonderful to see so many members in attendance at the Board Meeting last night. Thank you to all those who spoke of their concerns about the Psyllid infestation and those who provided input by email for Board consideration.

Dudek, a company specializing in Urban Forestry and Tree Management, prepared an Integrated Pest Management Plan and Monitoring proposal for the Board of Directors. Their services would include monitoring the Psyllid population and providing biological control measures when deemed appropriate. As they are still awaiting a species determination to confirm which type of psyllid is present in Lake Forest, the Board could not yet approve the proposal. As this is a priority for the Board of Directors, they appointed an executive committee with authority to move forward with the suggested course of action when the species determination is complete. The committee will meet with the Arborist(s) from Dudek, review individual requests for tree removal or trimming, and seek advice from other experts as we learn more about this current infestation. This allows more focus on the issue and offers the opportunity for the Association to move forward with the IPM Plan before the next Board Meeting.

The committee of the Board is comprised of Board President Jim Richert, Vice President and Parkwood Estates resident Paul Coulter, and Director and Woods Resident Fidelma Roberts. Input can be submitted to alisa.woolsey@lf2.org for the committee.

We will continue to provide updates by eBlast and at the Board of Directors Meetings on the first Wednesday of each month.
