Advocacy works! HB1 was considered by the full Senate yesterday afternoon and senators voted to restore the cuts made by the Senate Finance Committee.  The bill once again includes a $170,000 increase to Families Helping Families and a combined $1.1 Million increase to Capital Area, Acadiana Area, and Florida Parishes Human Services Districts for the Individual and Family Support Program. The funding to fill all vacant waiver slots, create 200 additional NOW slots, and restore the cuts to La. Rehabilitation Services remains in the budget

The bill will now return to the full House for concurrence.
