LWV OPRF September 16 Week in Preview

Volunteers Needed! Are you interested in the upcoming 2020 Census? LWV OPRF needs a member to represent our League at the Complete Count Kickoff meeting at 8:30am on Wednesday, October 2, at the Oak Park Village Hall. Contact Judith McDevitt for more information.

Also on Wednesday, October 2, but from 7:00-8:30pm,  LWV OPRF and the Oak Park Township are cohosting a Town Hall Meeting to learn about the cannabis legislation taking effect on January 1, 2020.   We need volunteers to help set up, greet attendees, and distribute and collect question cards from the audience.   If you are able to help with this, please contact Mary Haley.
Fall Kick-off - A Public Forum on Criminal Justice Reform:Cook County Initiatives - Wednesday, September 18, 7:00-8:30pm, Veterans Room, Oak Park Library.
Climate Strike
Please join us on Friday, September 20th for the International Climate Strike in Grant Park (11am-3pm).  The March will begin at Roosevelt Road and Columbus Drive at 11:00am; we will process to the Federal Building at 230 S. Dearborn for a rally and to hear speakers.   OPRF League members will gather at the Oak Park stop on the Green line at 10:30am and travel together to the event.  Make a sign to bring along if you are feeling creative. It's nice to be identified as the LEAGUE!!   Contact Marsha Borders,  Co-Chair Environment Committee, with any questions.
