MeterFest 2024



Do you have a dissolved oxygen meter?


Send it into the LSM & Maine DEP MeterFest. LSM and DEP staff will inspect and calibrate meters for FREE!!! Regional drop off locations, further details, and the form that you will need to complete is available on our website.


All meters brought to the Penobscot Soil & Conservation District office need to be there by 12 PM on April 9, 2024. All meters dropped off at Maine DEP Augusta office or the LSM office need to be there by 4 PM on April 10, 2024.

Registration for In-Person IPP Workshops Now Open

Lake Stewards of Maine is happy to announce that registrations for 2024 Invasive Plant Patrol (IPP) Workshops are now open. Guests can find and register for this season’s Plant Paddles and Live Plant ID courses in the link below.


Guests will receive more information about these workshops upon registration and as the program dates approach.


All in-person IPP workshops take place between June and August. These workshops are free to the public. LSM would like to thank all of the lake associations, community groups, and volunteers who have been actively involved in the planning of these workshops over the past several months.

Invasive Plant Patrol 101


Lake Stewards of Maine will host an Invasive Plant Patrol (IPP) 101 webinar on

Thursday, May 9th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Survey123 for IPPers

Lake Stewards of Maine (LSM) and Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will hold a webinar on Survey123 and its applications for aquatic invasive species (AIS) monitoring on Thursday, May 16 at 2:00 pm.


Survey123 is a powerful and a popular tool that allows volunteers to log accurate lake data in real-time. In this webinar, Becky Schaffner of Maine DEP will teach about Survey123 and its uses for invasive plant patrol (IPP) volunteers. The program will cover how to install the program, data entry, and new changes and updates made to the app in time for the 2024 IPP field season.
