Fellow golfers!
Now that we are well into Spring, and we look to have the worst of the COVID crisis and 2020 behind us, it’s time to start thinking about golf and this year’s Walker Cup!!
Mark your calendars for this year's event - Friday, August 13th, when we will be back at Trophy Lake Golf & Casting Club for the 2021 Walker Cup Golf Tournament - This is a morning start again, with a 7:30 am Shotgun Start! We still have a ways to go, but baring any setback’s in the lifting of the restrictions of the past year, it’s highly likely we will be back to “business as usual” – that means the shotgun start and the awards banquet following golf. Those of you that played last year know what a fun track this is, and for anyone that found the Blue Tees a bit “challenging”, rest easy – we are playing from the White Tees this year so the course should be a bit friendlier.
One thing we are keeping in place from last year is the price of the tournament – with this, you are “All In” – that means no need to worry about the process of stepping from station to station for your Mulligans, Grand Prize Raffle ticket, Putting Contest, etc., no need to pay for anything extra at the course - other than beer (and of course, extra Grand Prize Raffle Tickets! 😊).
We are also looking for sponsors for this year's event. We are just getting started, so a lot of sponsorship opportunities available - Greens @ $100, Teeboxes @ $150 - $250, and many other options - no reason to hold back on donating to this great cause, raising funds for the George F. Walker Memorial Scholarship program.
If you plan to play, but not sure you have enough players for a team, or if you are a single or twosome - don't let that stop you. I usually have no problem finding spots for everyone that wants to play and can help you fill out your teams.
