HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE BOARD
  • The LSAW Executive Committee and Board of Directors continue to conduct LSAW business via Zoom video conference during the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest board meeting was held in a virtual format on Saturday, August 14, 2021.

  • Due to the surge in Covid cases, the Board of Directors opted to host the Fall Seminar virtually. A format similar to last year with 2-hour webinars being presented over several weeks will be used. Please forward suggestions for webinar topics/speakers to Crissy at info@lsaw.org

  • The Board created an Accident Prevention Plan (APP) ad-hoc committee in order to move forward with creating an APP that would be available to LSAW Members. If you have suggested content or would like to serve on the committee, please email Crissy at info@LSAW.org

  • Mike McEvilly, the Legislative Committee Chair is working to identify members to serve on the s committee. The Legislative Committee Chair also serves as the LSAW Liaison for the Architects & Engineers Legislative Council (AELC).
 
  • It’s time to submit award nominations for Surveyor and Associate of the Year. Nominations can be emailed to info@LSAW.org

  • The Nominating Committee, Chaired by Immediate Past President Donald Wieber is currently working on the 2022 slate of candidates.



  • The next WFPS meeting will be in-person in Phoenix, AZ on October 16, 2021. This meeting will focus on outreach efforts. WFPS is developing a video study guide for the NCEES Fundamentals exam. This resource will be available in early October.

  • Be on the lookout for “Get Kids into Surveying” superhero comic books.

  • Help build the 2022 Transformation Tool, get out and collect GPS on benchmarks. Tom Barger is coordinating this effort for Washington State. Deadline is December 2021.

  •  Make sure you are signed up for the DNR Survey Advisory Board Listserv to stay informed of current actions. Click here to sign up.

  • Chapters not holding in-person meetings are encouraged to set up virtual meetings. If you have questions on how to do so or need assistance in setting up meetings, please contact Crissy.

  • The 2022 Annual Conference will be held at the Hilton Vancouver on March 2-4, 2022. If you have suggested topics or speaker, please email info@LSAW.org

Robert "Buzz" Baldwin Jr., PLS 30430 passed away Monday Night August 16th, 2021 due to complications from COVID. Buzz was life member of LSAW.
