News & Updates
This year, the LRC is sponsoring a new reading program called the Abraham Lincoln Readers' Choice Awards. It's like the the Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards minus the slime and Nick Cannon.

Students who read 4 of the selected titles will receive a certificate of commendation from the Illinois School Library Media Association (looks great on college applications!) and will be eligible to vote for the book they think deserves to win the Abraham Lincoln Readers' Choice Award for the 2016-17 school year.

You may borrow any of the selected titles from the LRC. They can be found on the bookshelf adjacent to the Circulation Desk.

Waze (app)

Waze is a viable and successful alternative option to Google Maps on your smart device. If you use Google Maps routing function, you know, when the British woman read directions to you as you're driving and sometimes, calmly, tells you to move into the far left lane at the very last minute; then you may want to consider trying out Waze

Waze has been reviewed by many as having greater traffic accuracy than Google or Apple Maps. The app's traffic data is crowdsourced, so even obstructions in the road, like a muffler or a fallen branch, will be reported by fellow drivers and the app will notify you of the upcoming hazard. Waze might even notify you of an upcoming Police speed trap. Download the app, and try it out.
