LEGISLATION INFORMATION

HB949 - Rep. John "Big John" Illg, Jr will NOT be heard this session! This bill would've given the DOTD police full arrests powers and authority. Thanks to everyone who helped work on these efforts and HUGE Thank you to RENEE AMAR with LMTA!!

HB785 - Rep. Rodney Schamerhorn prevents a cause of action against an owner, a lessor, or an operator of a commercial motor vehicle for failure to install optional equipment.

HB825 - Rep. Troy Romero will give dump trucks a 10% variance on their weight. .

SB260 - Sen. Heather Cloud will allow companies to transfer a permit within the company up to four times. If a trucking company owner has a truck that is broken down they have the ability to transfer that truck's permit to another truck within their fleet up to four times. This bill has moved from Senate Transportation, Senate floor and will now move to House Transportation.

HB327 - Rep. Jack McFarland will require any person who intends to cut five or more acres of timberland to have a written contract or agreement with the owner, purchaser, or representative of either the owner or purchaser, of such timberland and will require the commissioner of agriculture and forestry, with advice from the La. Forestry Commission, to adopt rules and regulations consistent with the Administrative Procedure Act. This bill has passed House Agriculture committee and is pending House Floor Action.
