Donate your gently used shower chairs, wheelchairs, rollators, walkers & toilet chairs to LOA and we will pass them on directly to our seniors in need - we have a waiting list right now for shower chairs in particular.

Drop off your items at LOA's main office, 4932 Frontage Road NW, Roanoke, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Grants update

Thank you to everyone who sent in gifts to LOA. Your financial support helps keep our programs going.  Last month the LOA was excited to be awarded the following grants:

  • $95,386 from Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia to reduce the lengthy waiting lists for LOA’s Personal Care and Homemaker Programs.
  • $5,000 from Carilion Clinic to start a Companion Program. This program will help our seniors at risk of social isolation by pairing them up with a companion volunteer. Please stay tuned to find out more about the program and how you can volunteer to be a companion.
