LIC Pride! Public Art Ribbon Cutting & Drag Performance Recap

Pictured (L-R): Charles Yu (LICP), Elizabeth Masella (NYC Parks), NYC Chief Public Realm Officer Ya-Ting Liu, LICP President Laura Rothrock, Malai, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs Commissioner Laurie Cumbo, Kenny Greenberg, Davis Brause (Brause Realty), State Senator Kristen Gonzalez, and Tiffany Echevarria (Office of Congressmember Nydia Velázquez). Last week, LICP debuted our latest public art installation, "Lumina Arcana," which features two large neon-light-clad pergolas on Vernon Boulevard. In celebration of Pride Month, the installation’s lights were programmed to display a rainbow of colors! 🌈

A special thank you to artist Kenny Greenberg, the NYC Department of Small Business Services, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, the NYC Department of Transportation, Con Edison, and Boyce Technologies for help with the project. Thank you also to Malai, Safir Mediterranean, all of our speakers and partners at the event, and to everyone who came for the drag performance and story hour. Make sure to come back and check out the installation at night to see it lit up! 💡
