Combined Worship Services

LHUMC family,

Worship is a vital part of who we are at Lake Highlands UMC! We gather together weekly to fellowship, sing God’s praises, hear the Word proclaimed, and encounter Christ through Holy Communion. LHUMC has a rich history of having both traditional worship and contemporary worship. We are planning on continuing that practice by offering excellent traditional and contemporary worship services where everyone can encounter Christ in ways that are unique to their own musical preferences and worship styles.

We have also enjoyed many combined worship services over the past year. In a year when we have needed to be together more often, it has been a blessing to have a full room of people encountering the joyful presence of God!

Over the next several weeks, we will have combined worship services at 11am. We are doing this because the content of each of the services are moments we want to experience together as one church body! For each of the following weeks, we will have combined 11 am worship services that will feature both traditional and contemporary elements. Let me give you an overview:

  1. April 28th: CCDC Sunday
  2. May 5th: Our traditional musicians will be joining Northridge Presbyterian Church that Sunday, and our contemporary worship team will lead us in the Sanctuary
  3. May 12th: Mother’s Day/Youth Sunday (Seniors sharing testimonies about LHUMC)
  4. May 19th: Pentecost Sunday followed by a BBQ Lunch in the Great Hall
  5. May 26th: Memorial Day and Trinity Sunday

On June 2nd, we will resume our contemporary and traditional worship services meeting simultaneously at 11am. We will have combined services on June 16th (VBS celebration Sunday), July 7th (4th of July Weekend), and August 11th (Back to School Sunday)! We will continue to offer traditional worship at 8:30am every Sunday.

Christian worship unites us to God, to one another, and to ministry to all the world! I love participating in worship with each of you!

Because of Jesus,

Pastor Andy Roberts
