We're looking forward to your connecting, engaging, and being a part of the conversation at Leadership Howard County's (LHC's) programs, events, and initiatives being planned for the upcoming year.

General Membership Kicks Off With HCPSS

LHC's General Membership programming kicks off on Wednesday, September 20, beginning at 9 a.m. at The 3rd. Join us to learn more about HCPSS' initiatives being actualized in relation to requirements set forth by Maryland's Blueprint for the Future.

9 a.m. - Registration & Networking

9:25 a.m. - The program begins with introductory remarks by Dr. Michael Martirano, Superintendent, HCPSS, followed by a presentation with Tim Guy, LE '15, and Q&A.

Illuminate With Leadership

Tickets are now available for LHC's Illuminating Leadership event on Thursday, November 16 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at HCC's Horowitz Center.


This can't-miss, fun-filled, evening will include entertainment from award-winning comedy veteran, Robert Mac, along with recognition of some of our community's great leaders including, Key Leader, Zack Shariff, LP '12, and 2023's recipients of the Best Class Ever (BCE), and LHC's new Emerging Leader and Corporate Community Impact Awards.

Award nominations and BCE point submissions are due September 30. More information about the event, tickets, award nomination forms, and sponsorship opportunities may be found at the event details link below. Register today to take advantage of the earliest-bird ticket rate of $100. As a reminder, ticket prices increase to $115 tomorrow through October 31, and beginning November 1 through November 16, tickets will be $130; for non-profits with less than 25 employees, the ticket price will remain at $95.

Save the date for the next Service Friday which will take place on Friday, October 20, assisting LHC's LU students at various Howard County non-profits as part of their 3D-HC program experience. More details to be announced soon!

Applications for Leadership Essentials 2024 are due October 9! Don’t miss this chance to invest in your company’s emerging leaders and rising stars! A diverse cohort of 25-30 emerging and mid-level leaders will benefit from the program's three core components: facilitated sessions on leadership topics, one-on-one leadership coaching, and a team-based community impact project.


The program runs from December 7, 2023, through June 6, 2024. A limited amount of financial aid is available for non-profit participants and entrepreneurs. Kris Broder, LP '01, has joined RCKRBX, as their Executive Vice President of Business Development.


Chief John Butler, LP '12, with Fairfax Virginia's Fire & Rescue Services, was recently named President of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC). Read more ...


John Dunn, LP ' 07, is now the Chief Operating Officer with Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians (JHRP).

 

Lance Johnson, LP '22, has joined PNC Bank as their Vice President for Commercial Banking.


Congratulations to Louann Magi, LP '14, and L'IMAGE Design Studio for being acknowledged by Best of Howard Magazine's Honorable Mention - Best Interior Designer in Howard County.




Lisa Marini, LP '14, has started a new position as Co-Lead Nature Preschool Teacher at Nature Forward


Best wishes to Missy Mattey, LP '04, as she retires from HCC after a remarkable 42 years of service.

Jon Weinstein, LP ' 14, has joined the faculty at Loyola University Maryland Sellinger School of Business & Management as an Assistant Professor and will also serve as the Entrepreneur in Residence at the school's Simon Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

As the number of older adults who rely on Neighbor Ride for transportation for medical appointments and other needs continues to rise sharply, additional volunteer drivers are urgently needed. Attend an orientation on Tuesday, September 19, beginning at
