This year, the annual Out In The South (OTS) Grantee Convening took place in Durham, NC. Grantees spent time together strategizing about how to best grow resources for LGBTQ justice in the South .

The GUTC Pledge added even more signatories this month, with more than 40 grantmakers committing to expand and deepen the ways they support binary and non-binary trans and gender non-conforming communities. Click here to learn more about signing the GUTC Pledge.

RESEARCH, RESOURCES, AND UPDATES

The Colorado Health Foundation recently released a new issue brief which shares the perspectives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Coloradans on matters impacting their health and quality of life.

Review examines research on mentoring for youth who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, and gender nonconforming (LGBTQI-GNC).

The World Health Organization (WHO) approved a major change to its global manual of diagnoses that will greatly benefit transgender people around the world.

The Supreme Court declined to hear Doe v. Boyertown Area School District, allowing school districts to continue to support transgender students by allowing them to use restrooms that match their gender identity.

The Trevor Project published the results of its national survey on LGBTQ youth mental health.

Ebony Harper
Current GUTC Fellow Ebony Harper has left the California Endowment and was elected Grand Marshall of the Sacramento Pride, where she participated to raise the visibility of the epidemic of violence against black transgender women. Way to go Ebony!
