Alexandria, VA. – The LGBT Meeting Professionals Association (LGBT MPA), the association representing planners, suppliers, educators, and students in the global events community, is pleased to announce their new mission, vision, approved bylaws, membership categories, and partnership opportunities.

MISSION: To connect, empower, and advance the events community through LGBT+ advocacy, education, research, idea exchange, and networking.

VISION: A global events community where all are accepted, equal, and belong.

Kyle F. Jordan, CAE, CEM-AP, CMP, DES (he/him/his), chair of LGBT MPA, stated “As we unveil the new mission, vision, and recently revised and approved bylaws of the LGBT Meeting Professionals Association, we are reminded of the power of community and of visibility. The board of directors is working to strengthen our network but also to amplify the voice and impact of LGBT+ professionals across the meetings and events industry. We remain committed to inclusion, education, and networking and the new direction we’ve implemented over the last eight months reflect that commitment.”

In addition to the new mission, vision, and approved Bylaws, the LGBT MPA also launched new and revamped membership categories–Friend of LGBT MPA, Planner, Supplier, Educator, Student, and Supplier Company–and new annual partnership opportunities that provide enhanced value proposition for our individual members and industry supporters.

“This is a pivotal moment for the LGBT Meeting Professionals Association, and I’m honored to be a part of it,” shared Cameron Curtis, CMM, CAE (she/her/hers), LGBT MPA’s executive director. “The last seven months have been focused on rebuilding a strong foundation that will support the organization into the future. The new mission and vision, as well as the other work we’ve done and continue to do, will lead the way in creating a global events community where all are accepted, equal, and belong.”
