HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. KING
Today, we celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was born on January 15, 1929. And tomorrow, as a country, we honor Dr. King's dream of unity, civil rights for all, and activism.
Dr. King led the fight against racial discrimination in the 1960s and inspired the world with the power of his voice, words, and actions. He dedicated his life to fighting for what matters. He taught us that “our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
On Friday, January 13th, a historic monument honoring Dr. King and his wife Coretta Scott King was unveiled in Boston. "The Embrace" is a powerful tribute to their love, their mission, and their courageous fight for justice.
With that in mind, let's embrace our neighbors, embrace the fight for what matters, and embrace each other on our journey to fully realize Dr. King's Dream.
