HERE WE GROW

"Our beliefs are shaped by our experiences," our new Governor Katie Hobbs proclaimed at this week's beautiful Inauguration.

Remember this mantra as we moved forward together into the 2023-24 election cycle. We must create new experiences for people, so they know Democrats do exist in Arizona! Now is the time to encourage our neighbors to join the movement.

As we kick off efforts this year, here are the three major areas of focus for 2023:

PC growth and engagement
Expanding our reach to new voters
Fundraising

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TOUR

Our 2nd Vice Chair Janet Johnson is launching the 2023 Youth Engagement Tour, which will begin on Wednesday, January 18th from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. See details below.

We are hosting a focus group to learn more about what would inspire or motivate young people (ages 16-25) to engage with LD2 and become active voters in the next election.

SPEAK OUT AGAINST CORP TAX CUTS

The 2023 Arizona Legislative Session hasn't even had a chance to start yet, and politicians are already trying to give giant corporations massive tax cuts. This is happening while hard-working Arizonans are struggling with record-high inflation. It is outrageous that the very first bill to be considered this year is just another handout to corporate interests and their rich CEOs.

Come join us on January 11th to speak out in the House Appropriations Committee at 9 AM and the House Ways and Means Committee at 2 PM against HB 2003 and Corporate Tax Cuts!

UPCOMING EVENTS

Jan 18: LD2 Monthly Meeting at 6:30 PM

LD2 will hold its monthly meeting at the PVCC Conference Center (17811 N 32nd St), located off 32nd St, just South of Grovers. You’ll see a separate parking lot from the main campus. The agenda will be sent to PCs in advance.

Reminder: LD 2 has resumed our monthly food drive to be donated to a local Food Bank. Please bring your non-perishable donated items. We will be collecting non-perishable pet food.

Jan 28: ADP Biennial Reorganization at 9:30 AM

Elected State Committee persons will vote for the ADP Executive Board. Make sure you participate in this as they will need a quorum. The meeting will happen as a Zoom Webinar, and we will vote with Election Buddy (a web-based system). You must be registered in advance.
