SUBS, STREETS, & SIGNS - OH MY!

Come join us on Oct 8th from 4-7pm at Moon Valley Park (502 W Coral Gables Dr) for LD2’s Subs, Streets, and Signs event. Rather than have our candidate yard signs collect dust at the LD2 sign depots, we’ve got a fun activity planned for all of the remaining yard signs. Help us “plant” all of these yard signs in high traffic areas on the LD2 roadways so that we can “sprout” votes for our Democratic candidates.

We will meet at Moon Valley Park where we will nourish you with subs, provide you with instructions and guidance, and a list of where to place the signs before setting off in pairs. Some tips: wear reflective / bright clothing, bring a mallet and screwdriver or a drill (we live in Phoenix – the ground is pretty hard) to facilitate getting the signs installed. Take pictures. Have fun.

Questions? Send them to: chair@azld2dems.org

Let’s get our Democratic candidates elected!

SINGLE SHOT POSTCARDS THANKS!

Thanks to all of our Single Shot Postcard helpers. We had volunteers from all over the valley helping us with this important work. I certainly can’t list everyone, but I do want to call out some special volunteers who helped us with stamps, labels, along with handwritten notes on 1000 or more postcards. These rockstars include: Donna, Mira, the Patel family, & Kim.

LD2 SIGN DEPOTS

LAST CALL! Our three LD2 Sign Depots are OPEN until Oct 7th! You can pick-up yard signs for some of your favorite Democratic candidates including Adrian Fontes, Kris Mayes, Julie Gunnigle, Jevin Hodge, Judy Schwiebert, Jeanne Casteen, and more. As we heard during the Sept LD2 meeting, any signs not picked up will be used for our Subs, Streets, and Signs event on Oct 8th.

  • East section of LD2: Janet Wilson - 602-432-7796
  • West side of LD2: Rivko Knox – 602-942-6436
  • North side of LD2: Meg Patel – 602-741-2373

Yard signs are a very effective way to show your neighbors who you support. Sometimes it’s a great conversation starter. Do your part to help our candidates!

HELPING OUR LD2 CANDIDATES CORNER

Get ready to gear up for Get Out The Vote (GOTV) by brushing up on your canvassing skills. Each of the LD2 Organizers are available in the evening Monday to Friday from 4-7pm to work with you individually to erase any trepidation you may have. To sign-up, visit the mobilize link found below.

Special highlight of upcoming events:

  • 10/01 – Canvass with Jevin Hodge & our AZ List candidates during AZ List’s weekend of action event. Meet at Buffalo Ridge Park at 9:30am - noon, talk with persuadable voters in the surrounding precincts

LD2 VOTER GUIDE FROM MCDP

As mentioned at the September LD2 Meeting, the Maricopa County Democratic Party (MCDP) has created paper copy voter guides tailored to each LD. These tri-folded voter guides will be dropped off at Democratic doors of voters who need a little encouragement by making it easier to vote using this guide. All LD2 PCs received a separate email regarding this important “lit drop” work.

Pick up the LD2 Voter Guides at the Oct 1st Canvass at Buffalo Ridge Park from 8:30am-10am.

YOUNG ORGANIZERS PROGRAM

MCDP has setup an organizing training program for young volunteers, “MCDP Young Organizers Change Makers 2022”. No prior campaign experience required. Please forward the link to any high school or college aged student you know who may be interested in growing their skills related to canvassing, phone banking, and field organizing. This program will focus on improving people’s communication with voters to ensure those voters vote up and down the ballot. The application can be found at this link here: maricopadems.vote/students

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

DONATE TO LD2 AND WIN A GIFT CARD!

If you’re reading this newsletter, you know the importance of voting in all elections and understand the process. However, not all of our LD2 neighbors do, so one of the uses of our funds is for the purpose of creating literature and mailers to help educate the voters of LD2 about the importance of elections – especially down ballot local races. Consider becoming a recurring donor to LD2 and you will be automatically entered to win a gift card for your recurring donation!

Anyone can donate - you don’t have to live in LD2.

How about $22 for LD2 in 2022?
