LD2 HYBRID MONTHLY MEETING

Wednesday, June 15th at 6:30pm

We are excited to have another in-person hybrid meeting on June 15th at 6:30pm at our Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) Conference Center location (put into your GPS: 17811 N 32nd St) where we will meet both of our fabulous Democratic candidates for Secretary of State: Adrian Fontes and Representative Reginald Bolding. Each candidate will share with us what’s going on with their campaign, how you can get involved, and answer your questions. Both of these candidates understand the importance of protecting our democracy and our vote. We’ll get a legislative update from our Representative Judy Schwiebert who is running for re-election and AZ Senate candidate Jeanne Casteen. Also attending, but not presenting will be Mary Jo Pitzl, a senior reporter from the AZ Republic who wants to talk with voters after our LD meeting.

We have restarted our non-perishable food & pet food drive at our meetings, so please be sure to bring a can or two to the meeting where they will be donated to the PV Food Bank. We will be doing this at all of our monthly meetings because at LD2 we care about all of our neighbors.

Just a reminder, the conference center has their own parking lot at 32nd Street and Grovers (17811 N 32nd St, there’s a reason why I posted this address again 😊). Although we will have sidewalk signage to help direct you, please allow ample time to locate our meeting space especially if this is your first time. You can attend early and sign petitions, meet your neighbors, talk with candidates, and grab a cookie (but please bring your own non-alcoholic drink). Meeting starts promptly at 6:30pm.

Don’t forget to register for the meeting if you will be listening via Zoom. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone.

There is a new Citizens Initiative creating a series of VOTING RIGHTS statutes that address both the AZ voting suppression bills passed in 2021 and some of those being considered in 2022 by the AZ Legislature.

The Initiative needs 237,645 valid signatures by early July. To help out with this group, contact Rita Meehan, Regional Director at rita@azfe.org or 415-748-2726.
