How Does LB626 Protect Life?

LB626, otherwise know as the Heartbeat Bill, protects unborn children from the time a heartbeat is detected in the womb. The heartbeat of a preborn child can be detected as early as 3 weeks, according to Human Life International. The Heartbeat Bill includes the exceptions of incest, rape, and to preserve the life of the mother.

Roe Yesterday and Today?

Roe v. Wade was issued on January 2, 1973; overturned June 24, 2022. Currently, 13 states protect the unborn life at conception. See the map. Currently Nebraska law allows abortion under 20 weeks post-fertilization.

We share the important idea that human life has not just intrinsic value but sacred value. Western civilizations are all built on the idea there is potential in everyone. No matter your background or your past. Our Government and Non-profits invest billions in this idea through programs in education, criminal justice, help centers, and so on. It's this same idea that can and should be applied to unborn children. Their potential is limitless!
Every life is created in the likeness and image of God

Physical and Psychological Effects on the Mother:

Abortions have a psychological effect on the woman and can lead to PTSD, relationship problems, and the need for counseling
Abortion complications for the mother such as infection, hemorrhage, perforation of the uterus, infertility, damage to the cervix, future premature deliveries, and sometimes death
Abortion is consistently associated with elevated rates of mental illness compared to women without a history of abortion.

Preying on Vulnerable Women for Medical Research:

Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent on fetal tissue for research purposes which is regulated by US federal law.
Planned Parenthood targets vulnerable women to have an abortion for a “quick fix” via advertising and placement of their clinics instead of offering education and options.
