Personal Lights & Bow Lights Required for Fall Rowing
Due to reduced daylight in the Fall, all rowers will need to have personal lights and bow lights for morning and evening sessions at the club starting August 28th.
Personal lights may be purchased for $15 cash at the office.

From August 8 to 13, our Junior and Senior athletes competed at the Royal Canadian Henley! We fought incredibly hard and earned some great placings, including two Henley Gold Medals! Check out some of the action that took place below! | |
LAST CHANCE! Fall Application Period for Financial Aid | |

Last chance to apply for Financial Aid! Rowers who require financial assistance to participate in ORC rowing activities are encouraged to apply to the ORC's athlete fund. Submissions must include a brief description (500 words) of what type of assistance they require and what the circumstances are around their financial need.
Anyone interested in applying for financial support can do so by emailing Andrew Harfield, at vp.recreation@ottawarowingclub.com with their note attached. The deadline for submissions is September 1st, 2023.
Eligibility requirements for financial aid are as follows:
- For Junior athletes, enrolment in Jumpstart
- For university aged athletes, enrolment in OSAP
- For Senior, Club, and Masters athletes, enrolment in Ontario Works or similar program.

ORC's Drag Race TOMORROW! Buy Your Tickets today! | |

Get your tickets today for ORC's Drag Race taking place August 24th at the Ottawa Rowing Club at 7:00pm! Drag Meets Sport at ORC’s Drag Race; ORC athletes join local drag performers for an Erg relay followed by a drag show with performers, Deca Thlon, Caligula, Stella Soleil, and our MC Eden Moore! Funds go towards LGBTQ2+ athletes in sport!

Location: Ottawa Rowing Club, 10 lady Grey Dr. Ottawa, ON

We are looking for 12 athletes from across our Junior, Senior, and Masters Programs to fill our teams. Several athletes have already volunteered, so spaces are filling up!
We will be looking for other volunteers as well, including those with smart serve. Please contact Brendan Edge, athlete.representative@ottawarowingclub.com if you are interested in volunteering.

ORC will be hosting a table at the Capital Pride Street Festival on Bank Street Aug 26th and 27th to introduce Pride goers to rowing and the programs at ORC!
We are still in need of volunteers, ideally from all programs to help us show off the best of ORC and our sport!

FREE Zumba Class at the Ottawa Rowing Club! Thursday August 31st at 6:00pm. | |

Come try something new and dance with Maria, who has kindly offered a FREE ZUMBA class at the Boathouse on Thursday, August 31st at 6:00pm! The class will be around 45-50 minutes and is welcomed to everyone, including children!
Maria has been teaching Zumba for 12 years and would love to showcase this fun latin-based dance workout at the ORC. She was an ARL 2023 Participant and now Club Program Member!
It will be lots fun, and best of all, absolutely no experience is necessary! Maria can't wait to dance with you next Thursday!
NOTE: Please arrive BEFORE 6:00pm. Due to construction, the roads will be closed. Pedestrian and bicycle access will still be open.

Do you want to see your pictures on Social Media? We are constantly looking for more media that we can post from all around the Club! Whether it be an in-house event, regatta, or other event with ORC members, alumni, and more, we are seeking to see greater representation of the entire ORC.
If you're interested in having your pictures on posted, please email your pictures to Marketing@ottawarowingclub.com, and indicate how you would like your image to be credited on social media (an Instagram, Twitter, Facebook handle, name, etc). Please make sure pictures are clear and are at least 1000x1000 pixels so that they show up great online!
