Greetings!

This is it folks... we're down to the wire.  Only a few days left to cast your vote and help the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association win their part of a $100k grant from IMBA and Bell Bike Helmets. Keep reading for all the details on how you can help us win!

LAST CHANCE TO VOTE!

The Hoosier Mountain Bike Association has been hard at work over the past year scouting and planning an additional fifteen miles of trails at Brown County State Park.  While most of these trails are still in the early planning stages, it will bring the total to nearly 40 miles of sweet single track in the state park alone!

The first of these trails will be the 3 mile Hobbs Hollow "flow" trail.  Riders will encounter bermed turns, step-ups, rock drops and table jumps along the 2-mile decent using more than 360 feet of elevation change.... that's more than any other trail in the State!  This brand new intermediate level trail will optimize the downhill riding experience and offer expert level optional features to provide even more challenge for advanced riders.

NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Log onto Facebook and "Like" Bell Bike Helmets

These other Midwest trails have also been selected in the two additional categories and need your vote:

Downhill/Gravity: Copper Harbor Trails, MI
Pump Track/Bike Park: Elk Creek Bike Park, Champlin, MN
HELP SPREAD THE WORD!

With just a few days left to vote, it's time to make that final push.  It's still anyone's grant to win, but we need a strong effort this week to push us to the top.  Our competition is strong, so we will need to work hard.  Luckily, we have a plan!

The best way to rack up the votes is to use the tools Facebook already has built in.  We are asking EVERYONE who is interested in seeing the Hobbs Hollow Flow Trail win this grant to please take time over the next couple of days to get your Facebook friends to vote.  While posting to your page may get a few votes, we need a lot more!

The key to getting votes is to use the Facebook Chat feature.  All you need to do is spend an hour (or two, or three!) chatting with your friends and walking them through the voting process.

Here is an example of what to say!

"Hello Friend!  Hope this message finds you well! We are trying to win a grant for some new mountain bike trails at Brown County State Park and we could really use your vote! Please follow the link (and be sure to give them the link) for instructions on how to vote for the new Hobbs Hollow Flow Trail. Voting ends THIS FRIDAY! Please spread the word. FYI voting does NOT work on mobile devices and you don't have to be a mountain biker for your vote to count! Thanks in advance!"

They're your friends, so you know how to motivate them.  So get on your computers and get out the vote!
 NOW LET'S BUILD SOME TRAIL!

The new Hobbs Hollow Flow Trail is not the only new trail coming to Brown County this year.  Volunteers with the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association recently broke ground on the  new Hesitation Point Bowl!  This 2-mile, expert level trail will feature 150' of elevation and a difficultely level between that of Walnut and Schooner Trace.  The HP Bowl will provide the challenge of these two trails with a longer sustained climb/descent which would be unique to the Midwest.

Construction has already begun on this new trail and work will continue over the next few months.  Please join us for the next work/camp weekend April 27-28.

This next wave of trails will raise the bar higher and put Brown County State Park in position to become an IMBA Ride Center!

Cheers,
Tania and Jonathan Juillerat
