LA Animal Services and The Pet Care Foundation Host

Biggies & Meow Meows July Adoption Event

LOS ANGELES, July 5, 2024 – In an effort to help find homes for the animals in the overcrowded city shelters, and to save more lives, the Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation is sponsoring the Biggies and Meow-Meows Adoption Event, starting now through July 31, 2024. During the Biggies & Meow Meows adoption month, the adoption fees for dogs over 40 lbs. are $51 (that does not include $20 license fee for LA City residents); puppies: $75, cats: $12.50; and kittens: $25.

“Finding loving homes for pets in our Centers is a collaborative effort between rescue partners, the community and LA Animal Services,” said Staycee Dains, General Manager for LA Animal Services. “With our shelters beyond capacity with amazing pets, we are grateful for the continued support of the Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation to help us find homes for the animals in our care.”

“This is an excellent opportunity to save a life by bringing home a great new companion animal and helping to ensure there is life-saving space in the City shelters for animals with nowhere else to go,” said Bill Crowe, Director of The Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation.

Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped. Adopters also receive a Petco flyer with discounts to help make their pet adoption a success, a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption, and (while supplies last) a complimentary dog or cat bed thanks to a donation from Chewy and Greater Good Charities. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. Contact Info@pawsforlifek9.org for more details.
