LA Animal Services Participates in Ninth Annual

Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption

& Donation Campaign 

Los Angeles, August 4, 2023 — LA Animal Services will be participating in the ninth annual Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation campaign happening through August 31st. As part of the month-long event, NBC and Telemundo owned and affiliated stations across the country and Puerto Rico are partnering with local animal shelters and rescues to promote pet adoption and help raise funds to support animal welfare in the community.


“We are excited for the return of the Clear The Shelters campaign, which provides an opportunity to showcase the adoptable pets in shelters across the country, including the furry friends in our six Centers to find their new homes.” said Staycee Dains, General Manager for LA Animal Services. “For animal lovers who want to participate, but are unable to bring home a pet, Clear the Shelters makes it easy for the community to show their support by donating to the shelter in their community.”


The 2023 Clear The Shelters will again feature online donations through Greater Good Charities, a global nonprofit and longtime campaign partner, which will host the fundraising campaign, built courtesy of Fundraise Up, an online donation platform that helps nonprofits grow revenue. For the first week of Clear the Shelters, Hill’s Pet Nutrition will be matching donations dollar for dollar for up to $25,000 for donations made to the Clear the Shelters Fund.


Since its inception in 2015, Clear The Shelters have helped countless pets find new homes. Nationally, more than 860,000 pets have been adopted over eight Clear The Shelters campaigns.
