MAJOR Victory for BIASC Members!
We're pleased to announce that a new and vastly improved version of the Connect SoCal plan was approved by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) governing board on September 3 by a vote of 61-0! BIASC would like to thank YOU for your willingness to respond to our initial call-to-action, ultimately leading to this success. You spoke, and they listened!
LA City: Affordable Housing & Incentives Motion
This week BIA-LAV testified during the City of Los Angels' Housing Committee meeting. The item BIA provided comments on was a Motion for City staff to produce a report on affordable housing and incentives. It’s imperative that new or added incentives be a part of this report for this approach to be a usable tool to address housing production.

Golf Committee Meeting
A big shout out to our Golf Committee, lead by Richard Dunbar of Oakridge Landscape! This Committee has worked hard to put on our October 6 Tournament. We met this week to discuss day-of details, and solidify final plans. We hope to see you on the course next month!
Board Member of the Week!
This week we want to recognize Andy Henderson of The Henderson Law Firm! Andy not only sits on BIA-LAV's Board, but he serves as a special consultant to BIASC and is BIA-LAV Chapter award recipient. Andy's expertise has been used on complex issues, ranging from Southern California Association of Government's (SCAG) Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) and the SoCal Connect Plan, to Facility Capacity Fee issues. We're in good hands with Andy's counsel! (Andy pictured on the right)
