A VERY SPECIAL COMMUNITY-WIDE PROJECT
LIGHT A YAHRZEIT CANDLE IN HONOR OF DEBBIE FRIEDMAN
Monday, JANUARY 8 at sunset - Tuesday, JANUARY 9
We hope that you will light a Yahrzeit candle for Debbie Friedman, American singer and songwriter of Jewish religious music, a well-known and amazing icon in Jewish music. This idea was conceived by Cantor Jeff Klepper after watching the beautiful and meaningful music video created by Aley Sheer in honor of Debbie (click on the link below to watch this wonderful tribute video).
If you think you do not know the music of Debbie Friedman, then perhaps you really do: we sing her "Mi Shebeirach" healing song every Friday night and there are many, many more familiar melodies and songs that Debbie wrote that are staples to our Shabbat services. We will include many of Debbie's songs this Friday evening, January 12th in our L'Dor Va-Dor Shabbat!
To watch Aley Sheer's very special video, please CLICK HERE at anytime.
