Building affordable homes in
Nez Perce and Asotin Counties since 1991
For many, homeownership feels unattainable or never contemplated. At L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity, we believe that homeownership is a critical key in breaking the cycle of poverty, creating generational wealth, building strong families, and revitalizing communities.
Since 1991, L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity has been serving Nez Perce and Asotin Counties and has provided affordable homeownership to over 155 deserving individuals and families through our new construction or our critical repair program- see our full impact in 2022 by opening up our Annual Report to the left.

The tools we use to accomplish this work stretch far beyond hammers and nails. Our strategic plan lays out a path forward for us to continue to grow and evolve as an advocate and producer of affordable and sustainable housing. The plan that follows identifies four areas of strategic focus. Each goal identifies specific objectives that will assist our board and staff to focus their efforts and allocate our resources. It’s amazing what four walls and a roof can do when they are created in the spirit of hope, dignity, and impact.
The journey to homeownership isn’t always easy—but it’s one worth taking. We will continue our mission of turning houses into homes and hold steadfast to our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Seeking Business Sponsors -
Home is the Key
April brings more than showers, it brings an opportunity to make a difference! April is when we hold our annual Home is the Key (HITK) fundraiser. We are asking retail establishments throughout the LC Valley to ask their patrons to support L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity through the "purchase" of paper houses (similar to Shamrocks from March of Dimes) in different denominations or round up their total as a donation. We provide all necessary signage and materials.
All donations stay right here in the valley. If you are interested, click here for the sponsor information page. You can also email director@lewisclarkhabitat.org or call 208.792.7568.

Although the exterior looks about the same right now, we are moving right along. We've been working on interior walls. We are in the process of setting the remaining trusses that will go over the carport.
We are always seeking additional volunteers for all stages of construction. If you are interested in joining us on the build site, click here or call our office at 509-758-7396.

Clarkston Affordable Home Repair (CAHR) Update
During: Kitchen floor ripped out
After: Leveled and replaced kitchen floor
After seeing a flyer for the Clarkston Affordable Home Repair (CAHR) Program through L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity, Tammia took a chance and applied. Her house was originally built as a shed in 1910, then later was converted into a home. Unfortunately, that meant that the structural integrity of the property was less than ideal. After the initial inspection, it became clear that significant improvements were needed to the foundation.
Our contractors completely removed the floors in the kitchen and bathroom and used jacks to raise the sinking corner of the house. Tammia shared how these repairs gave her peace of mind and a sense of security. Her bedroom is upstairs, above the kitchen. She said before the repairs she knew that “one of these days this house was just going to collapse and I’d be landing on the stove.” Now, she can rest easy knowing that her home is structurally sound and will last for decades to come. To read Tammia's, and other CAHR stories click HERE.

At this time, we are in the process of completing our final projects around Clarkston. We have reached the end of our grant funding for the CAHR program and are no longer taking applications.
